Invitation for Bid application of Fertilizer

The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has allocated foreign currency for the important of fertilizer.

The National Bank of Ethiopia hereby invites all interested eligible importers to submit their offer for the important of 50.000 MT + 15% UREA, fertilizer in two lots. Please note that insurance will be covered locally by the purchaser with price to be quoted C & F Djibouti liner out term.

Detail guidelines and standard bid documents can be collected against payment of non-refundable Birr 400.00 or USD 50.00 from the International Banking Operation Department, National Bank of Ethiopia, located in the Development Bank of Ethiopia premises.

All eligible importers must submit unconditional proof of financial capability from their bank for the lead to an automatic rejection.

All bids shall be submitted in sealed envelopes marked ?Application for Foreign Exchange Fertilizer Facility IFB No. NBE/FEFF/ ICB/52/2004? and addressed to NBE, Foreign Exchange Fertilizer Facility Committee, Addis Ababa.

All bids must be accompanied by a 2% bid bond of the importer value in an acceptable   form such as: CPO, or Bank Guarantee only and must be submitted on or before 2:00 P.M. Feb 1, 2005 which is the closing and opening date of the tender.

Bids shall also be accompanied by overseas supplier?s bid security equivalent of USD 1 per MT in the form of Bank Guarantee.

Bids shall be opened and read in the presence of bidders or their authorized representatives at 2:00 P.M. on Feb 1, 2005 at the International Banking Operations Department of NBE, located at the 1st Floor of the Development Bank of Ethiopia premises.

The Bank reserves the right to reject or accept any or all of the bids.

1. The Federal Inland Revenue Authority (FIRA) wishes to purchase computers, network equipment, installation service and supplies for its tax system expansion project.

Construction of regional office building - Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation

1. Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation (EEPCo) hereby invites registered contractors of category GC and BC class 1, whose licenses and registrations are valid for 1997 EC to submit, wax-sealed bids from the construction of regional office building at Awassa. 2. 5. Within 30 days of receipt of letter of acceptance of bid, and before commencement of the works, the successful bidder shall be required to furnish a performance bond of ten percent (10%) of  contract sum excluding  VAT for the faithful performance of the works from financial institutions, which are registered by the National Bank of Ethiopia

8. Authorization for the bidders to visit and investigate the site of the works shall be obtained from the employer on receipt of advance request from the bidders.

9. Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waives informalities, to advertise for new bids or to proceed and do the work otherwise as may be deemed to be for its best interest.

10. Those Contractors who would require advance payment should submit the disbursement with their bid  as per the regulation of Ministry of Works and Urban Development issued on ?Ide 3? 1991 E.C. The form for providing detail of advance payment disbursement is provided in section 13 of the document.

11. The owner will conduct a pre-bid meeting on 18, January 2005 at 14:00 P.M. at the conference hall of EEPCo Electric Club, Mexico Square, Addis Ababa. Bidders are advised to make their queries in writing to EEPCo, Civil Work Projects Administration Department, one week before the indicated meeting date. The Department would give relevant answers for the queries in writing, 5 days before the due date for submission of bids, to all contractors who purchased the bid document.
