Supply of Accessories for Low Voltage Aerial Bundled Conductor - Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation

1.      The Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation (EEPCo) has allocated a budget in various currencies towards the cost of Supply of Accessories for Low Voltage Aerial Bundled Conductor.

2.      The Program consists of distribution extension and maintenance works in various parts of the country.

3.      The Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation (EEPCo) now invites sealed bids from all internationally competitive bidders of the world to participate in the bid for the design, manufactures and supply of Accessories for Low Voltage Aerial Bundled Conductor under the following lot.

4.       Bidders should submit offer for all sub-items under the main item.

5.       All local agents shall have a valid business license.

6.       Bidders shall have prior considerable experience in design and supply of similar size and type of goods as required by the specific tender.

7.      The bid document shall be available from April 2, 2007 onwards against payment receipt of Birr 500 (Five Hundred) for a lot from the Procurement Division. All bids must be accompanied by bid security as per the bid requirement, and must be delivered to the address below at or before 4:00 P.M. local time (Addis Ababa) on May 16, 2007.

8.      Bids will be opened on May 17, 2007 at 10:00 local time in the presence of bidders/representatives who choose to attend the bid opening to be held at Mexico Square, EEPCo, Club, Addis Ababa.

9.      The Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation reserves the right to reject any or all bids.

CARE-International in Ethiopia is a non-governmental, humanitarian organization that is keen in providing humanitarian-relief and developmental sieves to the needy. CARE has been active in Ethiopia with the same objective of helping the poor and disadvantage groups of the society for the last 20 years, since 1984.

As a country office of the CARE International Federation, CARE is bound by standardized international finance and accounting principles and international humanitarian standards. As a country office of the federation, however, its human resources polices and country-specific and bond by Ethiopian law.

Thus, CARE Ethiopia has a unique and complicated organizational structure that accommodates for both geographic and programmatic divisions, CARE-Ethiopia Personnel Manual, job description and specifications, a performance evaluation system, a job grading system, and a multi-tiered salary scale.

Based on the organization policy, CARE Ethiopia would like to conduct compensation review for his national staff.

Qualification profile and experience of the consultant

1.      General:

Families with United Nations system in general and the work of UNESCO in particular

Experience in the development of any legal framework of international nature

2.      Specific:

1.       Posses at least 1st degree in law

2.       Familiar with international law

3.       Long standing expertise at least 5 years in the development of proclamation preferable in education, culture, communications, science and technology.
