Re-Invitation

1.      The Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received a loan from the African Development Fund in various currencies toward the cost of Education III Project. It is intended that part of the proceeds of this loan will be applied to eligible payments under the contracts for purchase of equipment for 114 new & 47 upgrade primary schools in seven packages that are under construction for the Amhara Regional State Education Bureau. Bidding is open to all bidders from eligible source countries as defined in the ADB?s Rules of procedures for procurement of Goods and Works.

2.      The Amhara National Regional State Education Bureau now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for any or all packages described below. The delivery sties or place for all packages are Gonder, Debre Markos, Debre Birhan & Dessie Education Materials Deposit & Distributions centers. The detail information is given in the bidding document.

3.       Bidding documents and additional copies may be purchased by paying a non-refundable fee of 100 (One Hundred Birr) or its equivalent in freely convertible currency from the Amhara National Regional State Education Bureau, P.O. Box 764, Tel. 251-058 220 48 56, Fax 251-222 08 14, Bahir Dar, on Submission of written application with a license valid for the year 2006/2007 and a local bides must include, VAT and TAX payers registration certificate and evidence indicating that the bidders has performed tax paying obligation from federal or Regional Inland Revenue, Interested  bidders may obtain further information at the same address.

4.      Bids shall be valid for a period of 90 days after bid opening day and must be delivered to the above office on or before 2:00 PM 17^th August, 2007 & must be accompanied by a bid security 2% of the bid amount, in Birr or its equivalent in a convertible currency in the form of certified check (CPO), Bank draft, letter of credit or a bank guarantee from a reputable bank located in Ethiopia or in any eligible country. Bids will be opened in the presence of bidder or representatives who wish to attend at 2:30 PM the same date in the above office Auditorium.

5.      Interested eligible bidders need to submit documents indicated on number 3 above together with their bid document.

6.      The provisions in the instruction to bidders and in the General condition of the contract are the prevision of the ADB standard bidding documents for the procurement of goods.

7.      The Amhara National Regional Education Bureau reserves the right to reject any or all bids.

Re-Bid

1.       The Addis Ababa Water and Sewerage Authority invites interested bidders for the supply of appurtenances and fittings.

2.       The bid documents shall be obtained from the same office against payment of a non-refundable fee of Birr 100 during office hours upon presentation of registration certificate from the Federal Ministry of Finance, renewed trade license for the year & VAT registration certificate.

3.       Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information at the Office of A.A.W.S.A.?s purchase Division located at Megenagna, P.O. Box 1505 Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Tel. 011-662 00 10/011-662 18 02, Fax (251-011) 662 39 24.

4.       All bids shall be accompanied by a bid bond of Birr 5,000 up to 10,000 in the form of Bank Guarantee or Certified Payment Order (C.P.O.) or Cash. Bid Bond in any other form shall not be acceptable.

5.       Bids shall be submitted in two separate envelopes: 1. Technical envelope. 2. Financial envelope each having one original and one copy.

6.       All eligibility certificates cited under No. 2 shall be found in the original technical envelope, and be submitted in the tender box on the closing date

7.      Bid bond shall be in a separate envelope and be submitted in the tender box together with the original technical envelopes.

8.      All bids must be deposited in the tender box prepared for this purpose at or before 10:00 A.M. local time on July 31, 2007.

9.      Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders and/or their official representatives who wish to attend, on July 31, 2007 at 10:30 A.M. local time.

10.  Failure to comply with any one of the conditions from (4) to (8) indicated above shall result in automatic rejection.

11.  The Authority reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids.

Addis Ababa Water & Sewerage Authority

1.       Branna Printing Enterprise  invites eligible bidders to participate in the bid for the supply of printing machinery.

Assela Malt Factory is in the process of implementation expansion project to increase its yearly Malt production output capacity from 15,000 tons/year to 20,000 tons/year. Thus we would like to select and hire a consultant. Accordingly, we have already prepared a tender document with well defined term of reference, scope and other requirements and ready to invite consultants to participate for the tender.

In this regard, the factor floats the tender for bidders (consultants) to select the exact supplier for the expansion project using the expected terms of reference as shown below:-

Tender document preparation based on the feasibility study made and factory site visit.
Analysis and Evaluation of tender proposals of the participant or suppliers.
Selection/recommendation of contractors and suppliers
Negotiation and award the contract for the additional 5,000 tons/year capacity expansion project.
Contract and signing the contract for additional 5,000 tons/year capacity expansion project implementation.

6.         After both technical and financial proposals are evaluated the total or final score shall be obtained by weighing the quality and cost scores and adding them.
