To: all contractors of category GC or WC class 5 & above contractors with renewed license valid and VAT registered for the year 1997 E.C.

1. On behalf of beneficiary community, the Bureau of Water Resource Development has received a grant from the Regional Government under food security program for the Construction & completion of water supply schemes.

LOT ? 1 Construction of Nebelet Water Supply Scheme, Werae-Leke Woreda and now invites wax-sealed bids from eligible bidders for providing the necessary labor, material & equipment for the construction, preparation and completion of the above stated works.

2. A complete set of bidding documents may be purchased by any interested eligible bidders on the submission of a written application to Tigray Region Bureau of Water Resource Development and upon payment of non-refundable fee of Birr 500 per lot. l Additional set of documents may be purchased at the same price.

3. Bidders may obtain further information from, and inspect the bidding documents, at the above office, Tel. 41 17 95, Mekelle.

4. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security, in the form of an acceptable CPO or Bank Guarantee form of Birr i.e. 40,000 and must be delivered to Bureau of Water Resources Development Office number 05 on or Before 2:30 P.M. local time, on December 24, 2004.

5. Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders or their representatives who choose to attend on the same date and place at 3:00 P.M. at Tigray Bureau of Water Resources Development, Mekelle.

6. The construction of the water works shall be completed within a maximum of 150 calendar days for each Lot from the commencement of the work.

7. Bidders are requested to fill all the necessary details in the schedules.

8. The bid evaluation and contract award will be on the bases of a lot.

9. The Employer will respond in writing or by cable to any request for clarification, which he receives earleier than 3 (Three) days prior to the deadline for the submission of bids.

10. The bid evaluation and contract award will be on the basis of technical and financial evaluation.

11. This invitation to bid is open to all bidders of Categories GC/WC 5 & above regularly registered with the Ministry of Works and Urban Development and with renewed license for the year under bid.

12. The Bureau reserves the right to reject any or all the bids.
