ETHIOPIA EDUCATION III PROJECT CONSTRUCTION OF SCHOOLS
(LOAN No. F/ETH/EDU-3/98/40)
1. The Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received a loan from the African Development Fund in UA. Among the projects to be financed from the proceeds of the loan include the construction of 27 primary schools in Somali Region.

2. Somali Regional Education Bureau invites sealed bids from eligible bidders who are in the category as indicated above to the respective packages. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the bidding document at the address given below.
3. Interested eligible bidders with license valid for 2003/2004 and registered at federal level may obtain the bidding documents from Somali Education Bureau on payment of non-refundable fee of ETB 200.00 within 45 days. The provisions in the instruction to bidders and in the general conditions of contract are the provisions of the ADB?s Standard Bidding documents: Procurement of small works.
4. Bids can be delivered to or mailed separately to the Planning Department of Somali Education Bureau on or before 45 days after the announcement at 11:00 A.M. accompanied by a bid security of 1% of the bid amount in cash, with marking ?BID FOR TENDER NO.? (Site/ Name& Package). Bidders can buy more than one package as their license permits them. Bid will be opened on the bid closing date as mentioned above at 3:00P.M.
5. Qualified domestic bidders may be eligible to receive a margin of preference of 1% while regional bidders receive 7.5% in bid evaluation. Price should be quoted in Eth. Birr. The construction of each school should be completed within a maximum of 220 calendar days from the commencement of the work.
6. The Bureau reserves the right to reject any or all bids
