Bid Ethiopia

1. The Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopian the Ministry of Health invites bids for the contract out of the logistics system to undertake the custom clearance, storage and distribution of Drugs and Medical Supplies on one time basis to the following health facilities:

336 Health Posts                             34 Districts Hospitals

1458 Health Stations                        23 Regional Zonal Hospitals

244 Health Centers                          5 General and Specialized and

Referral hospitals in Addis Ababa

2. Eligible bidders are those who have the capacity to undertake the above activities and who provide the following:

? Copy of a registration certificate from Ministry of Finance and Economic
Development

? A letter form Inland Revenue Administration which permit participation in
the tender

? Copy of renewed license (1996 E.C.)

? CV of qualified staff regarding Custom Clearance, pharmacist and Druggist

? Experience in the storage and distribution of Drugs and Medical Supplies

3. Interested bidders may collect the tender document from the office of the secretary of the Tender Committee of Ministry of Health Room No. 1.2 on submission of written application and upon payment of non-refundable Birr 10.

4. Bidders who require further information may request the Pharmaceuticals Administration and Supply Services of the Ministry of Health, Tel. 53 51 57/53 51 56/15 17 90/ 15 17 93, Woreda 3, Kebele 53, Addis Ababa.

5. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security Birr 50,000 in the form of bank guarantee issued by local banks or from internationally recognized bank which must be counter guaranteed by the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia.  Insurance bond is not acceptable.

6. Bids must be submitted at the Office of the Secretary of the Tender Committee, Room No. 1.3, on or before May 28, 2005, 2:00 P.M. before the bid is closed.

7. Bids will be opened on May 28, 2005, 2:30 P.M. at the Office of the Secretary of the Tender Committee in the presence of bidders or their representatives who choose to attend.

8. The Ministry reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
