Bid Ethiopia

1. The Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation invites registered contactors of category GC-1 or RC-1 with license valid for the year 1997 E.C. budget year registered for VAT to submit sealed bids for providing the necessary labor, materials equipment and any other necessary requirements for the execution and completion of the Gilgel Gibe Hydroelectric Power Access Road Project.

2. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information and inspect the bidding document at the Office of  :

3. Each prospective bidder proposing to bid this project must be eligible fulfilling the requirements of the particular instruction of the project.

4. A complete set of bidding documents may be purchased by any interested eligible bidders on the submission of a written application to the above address and payment of a non-refundable fee of Birr 800.

5. All bids must be accompanied by bid security of not less than 1% of the bid amount or a maximum of Birr 100,000. The bid security shall be payable on demand to the Employer, and must be an irrevocable letter or credit, or Bank guarantee, or Insurance Guarantee, or a Certified Payment Order (CPO) at the Bidder’s option. The bid along with the bid security must be delivered to the local time.

6. Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders or bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at EEPCo Club, Mexico Square, on 25 June, 2005 at 2:00 P.M.

7. The construction of the work shall be completed within 240 calendar days from commencement of works.

8. The Employer reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, to advertise for new bids or to proceed and do the work otherwise as may be for its best interested.
