1. The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopian has received a loan from African Development Fund towards the cost of Primary Health Care Service Project and intends to apply part of the funds to cover eligible payments under the Contract identification No. ADB/NCB/OHB/01/96 for the Procurement of Furniture for 56 Health Posts under two lots in zones and woredas of Oromia Regional Government listed below. Bid is opened to all bidders from eligible source countries as defined in the ADB’s Rules of Procedures for the Procurement of Goods and Works.

2. The Oromia Regional Government Health Bureau invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the Supply of furniture for the Health Posts mentioned above. Bidders have the option to bid for anyone or more lots. Bidders should have renewed trade license for 1996 E.C. or 2003/2004 & Suppliers list registration certificate from Ministry of Finance &Economic Development (MOFED), while purchasing this tender document.

3. Interested eligible  bidders may obtain  further  information and  inspect bidding documents from the  Oromia Regional Government Health Bureau, Administration & Finance Department Office No. 13, P.O. Box 24341, Tel. 51 08 08/53 01 71/ 15 46 02, Fax 53 36 29 Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

4. A complete set of bidding documents may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the above and upon a payment of a non-refundable fee of Birr 100 (One Hundred Birr only) for the two lots.

5. Bid must be delivered to the above office on or before 28/12/96 at 3:00 P.M. in the afternoon and must be accompanied by a bid security of not less than 2% of the bid amount from a reputable bank.

6. Bids will be opened in the presence of bidder’s or their representatives who choose to attend at Administration & Finance department office on 28/12/96 at 3:30 P.M. in the afternoon.

7. Bids shall be valid for a period of 120 days after Bids Closing date.

8. The provisions in the instruction to bidders and in the general conditions of the contract are the provisions of the African Development Bank Standard bidding document: Procurement of small goods.

9. The Oromia Health Bureau reserves the right to accept or reject any bid.
