1.  The office of he Road Fund Administration of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE)  has allocated sufficient budget towards the cost of Consultancy Services for the Construction supervision of the following routine Term Road Maintenance projects:

  -   Routine Road Term Maintenance of Mekele section under Adigrat
   district

  -   Routine Road Term Maintenance of Combolcha section under 
   Combolcha district

  -   Routine Road Term Maintenance of Azezo section under Gondar  
   district

2.   The Ethiopia Roads Authority invites all local Consultants registered at the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development (MOFED) under the prevailing Finance Regulation issued by the Council of Ministers for the Consultancy Service of the above mentioned three projects.

3.   The Consultants should renew their registration License for 1998 Ethiopian Calender.

4.   Interested consultants may obtain further information and collect the request for Proposal Document from Ethiopian Roads Authority Headquarter, 2nd floor, Room No. 204, Fax 251 1 551 0082, Tel. 011 515 3015.

5.   The RFP can be purchased as of November 14, 2006 upon presentation of a Registration Certificate from MOFED, VAT Registration Certificate and on submission of a written application to the General Manager of ERA and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of ETB 150 made payable to Ethiopian Roads Authority.

6.   The document for the subject project should be prepared in one original and four copies and must be submitted to the Director General office, Ethiopian Roads Authority, P. O. Box 1770, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Fax 251 1 551 48 66, Tel. 011 515 66 03 on or before December 28, 2006 at 2:30 P.M.

7.   The Proposal will be opened immediately after the closing time for submission in the presence of ERA?s Contract award committee (CAC) & Consultant?s representatives who wish to attend.

8.    A Proposal, which is received late, will not be considered.

9.    ERA reserves the right to reject or accept any or all proposals.

Supply of 270 hand pumps – Tigray Regional Water Resources, Mines & Energy Bureau

Re-Invitation

1.      This Invitation for bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this Project that appeared in The Ethiopian Herald, issue No. Tig/HPS/004/2006 date October 26, 2006.

2.      The Tigray Regional State though the Government of Ethiopia has received credit from the International Development Association toward the cost of Water Supply and Sanitation Project and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the Contract for Procurement of hand Pumps and spare parts for the Rural Water Supply Program in the Region.

3.      Stocking and delivery requirements: The successful bidders is required to (i) set up stocking delivery points at (Mekelle central warehouse of the bureau), (ii) deliver the items at this point (iii) hand over these items to authorized users who will approach the stockiest with authority slips for specific parts and quantities.

4.      The Tigray Regional Water Resources, Mines & Energy Bureau now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for the supply of 270 hand pumps. The Bureau may purchase additional hand pumps from the same supplier provided the performance during the first lot purchase is satisfactory. Bidders are required to supply the pumps at the above indicated distribution outlet centers and keep adequate spare parts shop as well as, through out the year.

5.      Bidding will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding (NCB) a procedures specified in the World  Bank?s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all bidders from Eligible Source Countries as defined in the Guidelines.
