1. The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received a credit form International Development Association (IDA) towards the cost of Agricultural Research and Training Project and intends to apply part of the funds to cover eligible payments under the contract for the Renovation of Buildings at Alemaya University Campus-Tender No. AU/ARTP/NCB/CW10-04/05. Bidding is open to all bidders form eligible source countries as defined in the Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits.

2. The Alemaya University invites sealed bids form eligible bidders for the Renovation of Buildings at Alemaya University Campus.

Bidders have the option to bid for only one lot. Bid will be evaluated and
contract awarded for each lot.

3. Domestic bidders are required to submit proof of their up to date registration form Ministry of Infrastructure Development & Trade Bureau at the place of registration for the year in which the bid is issued. The category of registration for the Renovation of the Buildings BC/GC 5 and above.

4. Bidding documents (and additional copies) may be purchased at the Alemaya University Liaison Office in Addis Ababa, Office No. 116, Ministry of Education, Old Building Tel. 011-1571098 or 011-1553133 (Ext. 208) or 091-1246295 of from Solomon Ferede Consulting Architects and Engineers, Tel. 011-5154020, Addis Ababa for a non-refundable fee of Ethiopia Birr 500 (Ethiopian Birr Five Hundred) or its equivalent in a freely-convertible currency, for each set. Interested bidders may obtain further information at the same address.

5. Bids shall be valid for a period of 90 days after bid opening and must be accompanied by security of Birr 30,000 and shall be delivered to Alemaya University Addis Ababa Liaison Office, Ministry of Education, Office No. 116 Old Building, Tel. 571098 or 55 31 33 (Ext. 208) Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on or before 9:30 A.M. on October 28, 2005 at which time they will be opened in the presence of bidders who wish to attend.

6. Qualified domestic bidders may be eligible to receive a margin of preference of 7? present in bid evaluation.
