1. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has received a loan from Africa Development Fund in various currencies towards the cost of National Livestock Development Project.  It is intended that part of the proceeds of this loan will be applied to eligible payments under the contract for the procurement of Biological, Chemicals and Regents.

2. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the supply of Biological, Chemical and Regents as described below:

Lot No. 1: Biological (Antigens and Kits)

Lot No. 2 Biological (Agars)

Lot No. 3 Biological (Enzymes and binding factors)

Lot No. 4: Additives

Lot No. 5: Reagents

Lot No. 6: Chemicals

Lot No. 7: Media

Bidders can only bid for complete lot and could bid for more than one lot.

3. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the bidding documents at the office of:

4. A complete set of bidding documents may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the above and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Birr 100 or equivalent of USD.

5. The provisions in the Instructions to bidders in the general conditions of Contract are the provisions of the African Development Bank standard bidding documents: procurement of Goods.

6. Bids must be delivered to the above office on or before Augusts 29, 2005 at 10:00 A.M. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of USD 3,000 (Three Thousand USD) or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency such as Bank draft, Electronic payment etc for each lot. Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders or their representatives who whish  to attend on August 29, 2005 at 10:00 A.M. at the same office indicated above.
